LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — Lincoln University’s homecoming celebrations were disrupted by a shooting late Saturday evening. The community is now grappling with the aftermath of the violent incident that claimed the life of one individual and left six others injured.
Lincoln University Shooting Details
The shooting unfolded just before 9:30 p.m. ET in the parking lot of the university’s International Cultural Center where students, alumni and other guests gathered for a tailgate following a football game earlier in the day, reports NBC Philadelphia.
Jujuan Jeffers, 21, was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries early Sunday morning. The identities of the injured victims, aged between 20 and 25, remain undisclosed. Among them is a current student and an alumnus of the Historically Black College/University (HBCU), while the remaining four individuals have no known direct ties to the institution.

Authorities have arrested Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson in connection with the shooting. The semi-automatic pistol he was found carrying matched a spent shell casing discovered at the scene, as confirmed by District Attorney Chris de Barrena-Sarobe. Morgan-Thompson is currently being held on $1 million bail.
Police Looking for More Suspects
Despite this arrest, the investigation remains active, with officials suggesting the involvement of additional suspects, reports 6ABC. Investigators have yet to determine a motive, but de Barrena-Sarobe noted that there is no indication that the suspects intended to instigate a mass casualty event.
The university and law enforcement are working in tandem, with investigators urging anyone with information, photos, or videos from the event to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
In response to the incident, Lincoln University canceled classes scheduled for Monday, October 27, and organized a vigil to honor the victims.
Other Schools Also Experienced Homecoming Shootings This Fall
The tragedy at Lincoln University is not isolated, as it follows a spate of shootings at other college homecomings, including those at Oklahoma State, South Carolina State, and several schools in Mississippi.
Lincoln University is about 50 miles southwest of Philadelphia.
