The Genesis of NCSSD

While numerous organizations and initiatives focus on various aspects of school security, none have addressed the need for a comprehensive approach to training and providing baseline frameworks of knowledge for school safety directors — until now.
What Do School Safety Director Do?
School safety directors occupy a unique and critical position within the educational system. They are the linchpins of school safety, responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, coordinating with local law enforcement, and ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations within the school security space.
Their role extends beyond mere security measures; they must also address issues related to mental health, bullying, and crisis management. Given the multifaceted nature of their responsibilities, the need for specialized training and certification becomes evident.
