Campus Safety is pleased to announce the 2024 K-12 school/district Director of the Year finalists. The accomplishments of this year’s K-12 finalists were seriously impressive. Check out some of what they’ve done to deserve this recognition:
- Drastically reduced the number of fights that occurred at school by implementing a group violence intervention program to mediate and resolve ongoing conflicts.
- Led the installation of security cameras on campus, resulting in the deterrence of misbehavior and less bias when investigating and responding to incidents.
- Changed officer uniforms so they wouldn’t be confused with local law enforcement. This helped repair officer relationships with students, parents, staff, and administrators.
- Installed sensors in bathrooms to detect vaping, smoking, THC, and other dangerous chemicals, as well as detect aggressive behavior via audio sensors.
- Conducted on-site inspections of schools that resulted in the rate of unlocked doors dropping from 55% to 10%.
- Achieved Storm Ready Recognition.
- Retrofitted campuses with protective window film on all lower levels.
This is just a sampling of what some of this year’s K-12 finalists achieved. They did so much more, so be sure to click on their profiles and photos below to see what else they’ve accomplished.
