Spotlight on K-12 School/District Campus Safety Director of the Year Finalist Loubert Alexis

Congratulations to Orange County (Fla.) Public Schools Director – OCPS Office of Emergency Management Loubert Alexis, for being named one of this year’s K-12 school/district Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.
Some of his notable achievements include:
- Relocated, renovated, and enhanced the district’s emergency operation center and then transitioned it to an emergency coordination center to better align with the district’s incident management team.
- Achieved Storm Ready Recognition in partnership with the National Weather Service. Orange County Public Schools is the only school district in the nation to receive a district-wide designation.
- Created and expanded Preparedness Days, an annual 2-3 day conference that provides training, workshops, and exercises for school administrators and district staff.
