Active Shooter Incident Trends 2000-2012

According to a study recently released by the FBI, from 2000 to 2012, the number of active shooter incidents in the United States has increased, particularly after 2008.

The average number of incidents per year from 2009-2012 was 16.
Businesses are the most common location for these types of attacks. School are the second most common location.
