Clark State Awarded $750K Grant to Improve Safety
Community college is looking to enhance its emergency notification abilities and sexual violence prevention efforts.
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Clark State Community College is considering ways it can use a $750,000 grant to improve safety and security.
Right now, the school is looking into improving its ability to send out emergency notifications. It recently purchased software that will enable Clark officials to send alerts to any device that is on the campus network, reports the Springfield News-Sun. Additional software would enable those messages to be heard audibly, as well as read on LED signs.
Previously it used text messages and emails to send out alerts.
Clark State is also considering ways to improve its sexual assault and domestic violence prevention efforts, and it received an additional $7,500 to do so.
Counselors have also developed a resource guide to inform students about the services available, both on campus and in the community.
