Police: Okla. Teens Killed Family Members, Planned Mass Shooting
Teens Robert and Michael Bever reportedly planned to kill as many people as possible after stabbing five of their family members to death.
Two teenage boys in Oklahoma that were recently arrested for stabbing and killing five of their family members also reportedly planned a killing spree.
Robert Bever, 18, and Michael Bever, 16, are being charged with five counts of first-degree murder and one count of assault and battery with intent to kill after police say they stabbed their parents and three of their siblings to death July 22. The boys’ sister Crystal, 13, is in serious condition and is the only stabbing victim who survived the attack at the home in Broken Arrow.
Robert Bever told police the brothers planned to kill as many people as possible after the stabbings to gain recognition like the Columbine shooters, according to dailymail.co.uk. The boys had ordered 3,000 rounds of ammunition to the house in preparation for the massacre.
But the boys never got the chance to continue killing because of the actions of their brother Daniel, 12, who called 911 after being attacked. Daniel was able to tell dispatchers what was happening and where he lived before the phone was disconnected.
Police found Crystal still alive when they arrived at the house and were able to track fresh footprints into a wooded area where they found the brothers.
Unfortunately Daniel and his siblings Christopher, 7, and Victoria, 5, were all found dead in the house. The brother’s parents David, 52 and April, 44, were also pronounced dead at the scene. The boy’s sister Autumn, 2, was found unharmed. The Medical Examiner reported all the victims had died of “multiple sharp-force injuries.”
Under Oklahoma law no one can be executed for a crime committed while they were under the age of 18, but both boys could be charged as adults and face life in prison. Robert is scheduled to appear in court August 3.
