Jeanne Smith is the Program Manager for the Grants and Contracts Office for Genetec, Inc. Joining Genetec in 2022, Jeanne is responsible for managing the Genetec Grants Office, helping customers navigate the grant funding process, and potentially secure additional funding for their projects. Prior to joining Genetec, Jeanne was Senior Grants and Contracts Manager for multiple large corporations. She managed Federal, State, and local contracts and national cooperative agreements, promoting these programs through presentations and individual and group training. In addition, Jeanne has been a writer, editor, and researcher for books, magazines, newspapers, healthcare institutions, corporations, and a large marketing firm.

Bruce A. Canal, Executive Leader – Education, Genetec, Inc.

Bruce A. Canal is the Executive Leader for K-12 / Higher Education at Genetec, Inc. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and driving business strategy for the education vertical, driving brand awareness, cultivating partnership and end-user relationships. As a subject matter expert in education, he is involved in a broad range of education-related initiatives. Mr. Canal brings over 25 years of education-related security experience and is the former director of physical security for the 8th largest school district in the United States, Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL. His first career was serving as an officer for the Indiana State Police. Mr. Canal is accredited by ASIS International as a Certified Protection Professional and is an active member of both the “School Safety and Security” and the “Crime Prevention” ASIS communities. He is also a technology committee member of the Partnership Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS K-12) and sits on the board of Zero Now for higher education, as well as an active member of the National School Resource Officers Association. He also sits on the Scholarship Committee of the ASIS Foundation. Mr. Canal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and a MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
