Ray Gerwitz, MBA, CHPA, CPP
Executive Director and Deputy Chief Security Officer

With over 30 years of public service, Ray Gerwitz currently serves as the Executive Director and Deputy Chief Security Officer for The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and for The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Gerwitz provides executive leadership to the following units: Uniformed Security Operations, Risk Operations Center, Risk/Threat Analysis, Strategic Planning and Research, Talent Management, Community Outreach, and Budget and Administration.

Gerwitz is an International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator and is board certified in security management through ASIS International as a Certified Protection Professional. Gerwitz is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Master of Science in Telecommunications Management and a Master of Business Administration.

 

David Cribbs, CPP, PSP
Manager, Risk Preparedness Services

David has dedicated 23 years to the protection industry as an integrator, consultant, and corporate security executive. He holds a BS in Criminal Justice, MS in Security Administration, and is certified through ASIS International.

Serving the nation’s manned space flight program for many years, David was responsible for protecting personnel and assets critical to the space program under a classified contract focused on shuttle and space station operations. Later, he directed corporate security in the banking sector, served as a general manager in the integration space, and consulted on major construction projects throughout Houston. Additionally, David serves as the Certifications Chair for the Houston Chapter of ASIS International, instructing classes for security practitioners seeking to obtain professional certification.

Currently, David is the Manager of Risk Preparedness Services for the University of Texas, tasked with the risk assessment and design of security systems protecting over 20,000 employees and 19 million square feet of MD Anderson and UT Health facilities throughout the Houston area.
