David is an experienced executive with over three decades in technical business development and sales and a passion for building alliances and enabling customers to invest wisely in the latest technologies. Before joining Dell in 2021, David’s career in technology was honed as he worked for GE, Cisco, and Sony respectively, and was further shaped by his experiences at a variety of emerging technology start-ups in the fields of digital imaging, communications, and networking technologies. His experience as end-user, integrator, and product sales professional to retail, commercial, SLED, healthcare and manufacturing sectors provide a broad base of experience and knowledge.
Bruce A. Canal is the Executive Leader for K-12 / Higher Education at Genetec, Inc.
In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and driving business strategy for the education vertical, driving brand awareness, cultivating partnership and end-user relationships. As a subject matter expert in education, he is involved in a broad range of education related initiatives. Mr. Canal brings over 25 years of education-related security experience and is the former director of physical security for the 8th largest school district in the United States, Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, FL. His first career was serving as an officer for the Indiana State Police. Mr. Canal is accredited by ASIS International as a Certified Protection Professional and is an active member of both the “School Safety and Security” and the “Crime Prevention” ASIS communities. He is also a technology committee member of the Partnership Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS K-12) and sits on the board of Zero Now for higher education, as well as an active member of the National School Resource Officers Association. He also sits on the Scholarship Committee of the ASIS Foundation. Mr. Canal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
