Toshiba IK-WB82A IP Video Surveillance Cameras

The IK-WB82A dedicates bandwidth to moving objects or critical areas of interest while decreasing bandwidth on background images that aren’t as important.

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., a provider of digital products, services and solutions, announces the new IK-WB82A. This bullet IP camera features three-megapixel resolution, adaptive IR LEDs and H.264 Smart Codec high compression technology to reduce network bandwidth.

Many schools and hospitals are concerned with overloading networks and storage devices, so Toshiba’s new high-resolution streaming IP video reduces video packet size for easier storage, according to the company. The IK-WB82A dedicates bandwidth to moving objects or critical areas of interest while decreasing bandwidth on background images that aren’t as important. The IK-WB82A also uses Adaptive IR to automatically adjust IR LED intensity to avoid over-exposure to close objects.

The product also features a user-controlled “Hallway View” that moves the camera’s view 90 degrees to create a portrait mode, which gives users increased viewing versatility for long, narrow spaces such as hallways and stairways.
