Openpath Named Access Control Leader By Group337

Openpath, a modern mobile access control provider, announces it has been given top recognition in Group337’s Access Control index.

According to its website, Group337 consists of executives focused on business creation in the CRETech, proptech and smart home markets for small to large companies in the security, access control, and IoT industry.

The report, which is based on the analysis of key data points from 40 leading physical access control software manufacturers, serves as an evaluation of how a company is currently performing and outlines opportunities and key data points to forecast how they are expected to perform in the future. It presents findings across individual criteria, including:

  • Market Reach: The potential total addressable market; a company’s ability to go into new markets beyond where it is today
  • Technology: The underpinnings of an organization’s product(s); the technology that is sold, whether it be a product, part or software
  • Innovation Engine: Part of the organization where new things — like ideas, products, business services, etc. — are originating
  • Marketing: The way of communicating how an organization brings a product to market, which includes the content that is created, social media, storytelling, the use of different platforms and graphics

Openpath ranked first in the Commanders category of The Index with an overall score of 73% compared to an average score of 54%, according to a press release. The report describes Commanders as having “one eye on answering today’s security needs, with the other on introducing new use cases such as wellness and convenience.”

“Even as an upstart in an industry that rewards legacy, Openpath has shown that they are a leader for today with the opportunity tomorrow,” reads the report. “Openpath shows strength across all aspects of the business with a focus on Open Innovation, and are one of the few companies in the industry that have the It Factor.”

In response to the pandemic, in March 2020, Openpath says it quickly engineered and rolled out its hands-free “Wave to Unlock” feature as part of a new firmware release to help reduce common touchpoints and allow a contactless user experience at a safe distance.

Since then, says the company, “Openpath has continued to innovate with Safety & Wellness solutions to protect users from germ-spread and prepare the built world to return to buildings safely in the wake of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.”

“In the past year alone, Openpath also added 26M square feet of office space to it’s growing portfolio, raised $36M in Series C funding, and introduced global partnerships with industry-leaders like Cisco Meraki, Lenovo and Okta,” adds the company.
