The Project School Emergency Response to Violence (SERV) program will provide short-term grants for added security and mental health professionals.
The $15 million grant, issued through FEMA’s Public Assistance Program, will cover the cost of 220,000 COVID-19 tests and associated expenses.

The grant funds will come from money set aside by legislators for school safety under House Bill 166. Applications are due by Dec. 13.
