Service Turns Cell Phones Into Safety Devices

New York-based Rave Wireless introduces Rave Guardian™, a service that transforms users’ mobile phones into personal safety devices.

The phone-accessed application can be armed, and when triggered, automatically sends the user’s picture, location and personal information to campus police. Students opt-in to share their location with campus police whenever and wherever they feel unsafe and wish to be monitored for personal safety.
