FLIR Systems FB-Series™ Thermal Security Camera

FLIR Systems, a manufacturer of thermal imaging infrared cameras, announces the release of its FB-Series™, a thermal security camera for 24/7 perimeter security.

The FB-Series combines thermal image detail and high performance onboard video analytics in a single bullet-type form that is ideal for perimeter intrusion detection, according to the company.

It is combined with FLIR’s custom Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE) to provide image contrast and sharpness and to offer reliable detection and classification with limited false alarms rates without human intervention.

The FB-Series ID can also handoff classified intrusions to FLIR pan-tilt-zoom cameras for autonomous tracking of intruders. It features FLIR’s 320×240 resolution thermal imaging sensor and can detect potential intruders in total darkness and through sun glare, smoke, dust and light fog.

The camera offers the option of onboard analytics or “plug-and-play” compatibility with external video analytics. Both are certified with major VMS suppliers, which enables additional thermal configuration and alarm management.

Narrow and wide lens options are available, including 93, 49, 24, 12 and 9-degree field of views.

The camera is also fully integrated and certified by third-party video management systems, as well as FLIR United VMS, which enables additional thermal configuration and alarm management.

The FB-Series ID comes with a 10-year warranty on the thermal sensor and a three-year warranty on the camera and can be ordered through FLIR dealers and integrators.
