VIVOTEK, an IP surveillance solution provider, announces its further partnership with PlateSmart, a license plate recognition (LPR) solution provider.
Earlier this year, PlateSmart announced the integration of its ARES automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) software with VIVOTEK network cameras. Now, VIVOTEK’s VAST 2 video management system can be integrated with Powered by PlateSmart™ using a plug-in.
Showcased at GSX 2019 in Chicago, Powered by PlateSmart is built on AI and deep machine learning, according to the company. It also supports multiple options for authentication and encryption.
Powered by PlateSmart was designed to allow providers to easily extend their solutions to include the vehicle data PlateSmart can provide. Data includes the license plate, its state jurisdiction, vehicle make and color. It will soon be able to address vehicle orientation (front, rear or side) and type, says the company.
“One of the benefits of Powered by PlateSmart is the ease with which it can be integrated with other business solutions,” said Webb Wang, PlateSmart’s chief technology officer. “Powered by PlateSmart just reads the plates, extracts the data and sends it to VAST 2, where searches and viewing can be done.”
VAST 2 is a video management software (VMS) that offers operation on single or multiple monitors, custom layout to accommodate both corridor and panorama orientations, and the exporting of multi-channel video.
VAST 2’s add-on solutions also include failover protection, a transportation solution with GPS coordinates and Data Magnet integration solutions, according to the company.
