WASHINGTON, D.C. — Safer Buildings Coalition, an advocacy group and resource for solving in-building wireless dead zones, is hosting the In-Building Wireless Tech & Policy Summit on July 6 at the National Housing Center in Washington, D.C.
This event brings together industry tech leaders and policy leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges at the intersection of wireless policy and wireless technology.
During an expert panel, “School Safety and the Critical Role of Wireless Connectivity,” participants will examine how public safety communications failures have played a role in mass-casualty incidents, and how the industry must work to improve or eliminate these problems wherever possible. The panelists will focus on state and federal legislation, such as Alyssa’s Law, that helps schools ensure that critical communications are always available inside school buildings during emergencies.
Preceding the panel will be a keynote address by Lori Alhadeff, co-founder of Make Our Schools Safe. Her daughter, Alyssa Alhadeff, was killed in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting and is the inspiration and namesake behind Alyssa’s Law.
