Congratulations to University of South Carolina Upstate Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police Klay Peterson on being named one of our finalists.
Some of his notable achievements include:
- Negotiated inclusion into the Spartanburg county-wide public safety answering point.
- Department of Public Safety managed the installation of access control systems in 11 campus buildings. The Police Department now has the ability to lock down these buildings in the event of an emergency.
- Secured funding for the upgrade of the campus fire alarm systems. As the result of the support from many stakeholders across campus, the university now enjoys enhanced response times to fire alarm activations.
