NEWARK, N.J. – An audit conducted by Public Schools Supervisor of Maintenance Steve Price and local law enforcement agencies reveals that Worcester County’s public schools are safe and secure.
The Worcester County Board of Education received a summary of the audit, which reviewed each school’s safety plans and security measures.
Despite the overall findings, auditors formulated a list of nine recommendations to improve the general safety and security of the county’s schools. One recommendation suggested implementing a visitor management system in the schools capable of issuing photo identification cards for visitors as well as students and employees. Another recommendation suggested locking and securing all exterior doors during normal school hours.
