Women’s Basketball Brawl Results in Double Forfeit

A brawl between Southern and Texas Southern in the middle of a women’s basketball game forced school security to get involved and resulted in a double forfeit.

In an important women’s basketball game between Southern University and Texas Southern University, a fight broke out between players that soon erupted into a bench-clearing brawl involving fans.

The two schools, which were competing for the Southwestern Athletic Conference regular season title Saturday night, began fighting after Texas Southern’s Miracle Davis took a charge midway through the second half. The game was cancelled after the fight and ruled a double forfeit.

TSU’s Alexus Johnson and Diamonisha Sophus were identified as throwing punches, while fans and cheerleaders were also involved, according to blog.chron.com. School security rushed the court and held Johnson from entering the Southern locker room to continue fighting.
