BRISTOL, Pa. — A woman is facing felony arson charges after allegedly setting fire to her bed at Lower Bucks Hospital on Jan. 19.
Desiree Gottsabend was arrested several hours after the fire, PhillyBurbs.com reports. When the fire alarm sounded, a nurse tried to open Gottsabend’s hospital room door and found that Gottsabend was blocking it. When the nurse was finally able to enter the room, she found it on fire; Gottsabend was able to slip out in the confusion.
Sixteen people — mostly hospital staff — suffered smoke inhalation.
