GREENWICH, Conn. — Whitby School has appointed 911 Consulting as its emergency preparedness consultant.
Established in 1958 and located on a 25-acre campus, Whitby is a co-educational independent school for children from18-months through eighth grade. Enrollment approaches 400 students with 95 faculty and staff from Connecticut, other states and numerous countries.
“We started upgrading our emergency planning before the Newtown tragedy,” said Bryan Nixon, Head of School. “Our goal is to ensure our planning, training, drilling and exercising thoroughly prepares us to protect our students, faculty and staff.”
“Whitby’s leadership is very serious about training and exercising,” said Bo Mitchell, president of 911 Consulting. “They understand that while plans are a great thing, training is everything.”
Mitchell, who served as police commissioner for Wilton, Conn for 16 years, founded 911 Consulting in 2001 with a goal to help campuses, corporations and medical facilities across the country plan and train for emergencies, disaster recovery and business continuity.
