ST. LOUIS – Washington University School of Medicine has appointed a new emergency planning specialist.
The university selected Ryan Nicholls, who formerly served as director of Springfield-Greene County office of Emergency Management, KSMU.org. Nicholls also served as the head of Missouri’s emergency management agency.
In a news release, Nicholls expressed his excitement over the new position.
“I am getting the chance to help build a new emergency management program for this world-class medical school, literally from the ground up – my role will be that of an emergency manager, specializing in comprehensive disaster planning,” he said.

Nicholls begins his new role on April 7.
