A Washington school system is planning on adding nearly 500 new cameras to be placed at all their elementary, middle and high schools.
The Everett School district will also be instituting video security RAVE 911, according to My Everett News. In order to get the system, Everett obtained a grant in partnership with law enforcement. This will allow school staff immediate connection to 911.
Twice voters refused to fund additional safety enhancements for the schools, but school superintendent Dr. Gary Cohen said they were moving forward with the additional security measures.
