Virginia Tech Names Police Chief

Months after acting as the university's interim police chief, Kevin Foust has now officially taken over the position.

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Tech has named Kevin Foust as its new police chief.

Foust, who joined the university’s police department in 201, has served as the department’s interim police chief since February when Wendell Flinchum retired from the position, The Roanoke Times reports.

During his time at Virginia Tech, Foust has managed security operations for the university’s facilities across Virginia and overseas.

Additionally, he led the department’s administrative division, which included communications, community outreach, security and the Safe Ride program.

Before coming to the university, Foust spent 24 years with the FBI.
