A Facebook comment on a University of Minnesota student’s wall has resulted in her suspension after a faculty member felt threatened.

Amanda Tatro, 29, was approached by university police on Dec. 14 and was escorted out of class. She was then taken to a private room on campus and was searched.

According to MyFox Twin Cities, Tatro’s lab instructor called police after reading a comment on her student’s Facebook page. Tatro, a mortuary science major, made a reference to using a medical instrument to “stab a certain someone.”

According to Tatro, the Facebook status was directed at her ex-boyfriend, who had broken up with her the prior day. However, Tatro was still suspended from the program with only a week left before finals.
