CARY, Ill. – A high school senior’s essay referring to drugs, violence and necrophilia led to his arrest last week.
School officials reported the essay, written by Allen Lee, 18, to police April 24. According to a CNN.com report, Lee free associates about violence, sex and drugs in his essay. He goes on to describe shooting everyone inside a building and having sex with their dead bodies. He added “it would be funny if I did.”
Lee wrote the essay for a creative writing assignment in which students were to “write whatever comes to your mind. Do not judge or censor what you are writing.” Officials describe the writing as going beyond simple violence and foul language.
Lee, a straight-A student, is due in court May 17 to face two disorderly conduct charges. In the meantime, he has been placed in a building separate from other students.
