Video Camera Found in Illinois School’s Adult Restroom

RICHMOND, Ill., A male custodian is suspected of planting a hidden camera in an adult restroom of Richmond Grade School.

The small, wireless video camera was taped to a pipe under a sink and directed toward the toilet. After the camera’s discovery on Dec. 13, the custodian was suspended without pay.

It is unclear how long the camera had been in the bathroom, although police did discover it was purchased in April.

No children used the bathroom in question, and district officials say they were not at risk. The district did, however, check its two other elementary schools. No cameras were found.
