BLACKSBERG, Va. – The Associated Press (AP) is reporting that as a result of the April 16 Virginia Tech massacre in which 32 students and faculty were shot and killed by a deranged student, the school will have more police officers and counselors on staff.

Four more counselors and 11 additional police officers have been hired and will be working when school starts Aug. 20.  Extra officers will be present for the first week or as long as they are needed.
