UW Madison Police Accredited By 3 Agencies

MADISON, Wis. — This month, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department became the only law enforcement agency in the state to be accredited by three different agencies.

Most recently, the department was accredited by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), according to the university’s Web site. The IACLEA has a standards manual that contains 203 standards and has accredited 34 law enforcement agencies, 33 in the U.S. and one in Canada.

In the last year, the university has also been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement and the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group.
