Utah District Undergoes $1.2M in Security Upgrades

Thanks to a national grant, all 18 Provo School District campuses are equipped with security cameras and automatic door locks.

Provo School District has improved security on its campuses thanks to $1.2 million in funding from a national grant that was matched by the district.

Now, all 18 schools are equipped with security cameras and automatic door locks. Two elementary schools had their main offices redesigned to face the schools’ front entrances, Fox 13 reports.

The district is the only one in Utah to have automatic door locks in case of a lockdown, officials said.
