SALT LAKE CITY, On Wednesday, Utah State University (USU) suspended use of 36 of its large passenger vans pending further inspection. The grounding is in response to an accident involving one of the school’s 15-passenger vans, which flipped over and crashed Monday when it blew a tire. The accident killed eight students and an instructor.
The 14 other vans that will not be taken out of service do not have bench seats for passengers and are used by the university to transport cargo.
