LOS ANGELES – On Sept. 18, a University of Southern California (USC) film student died after being involved in a fight several blocks away from campus. He had been stabbed during the altercation.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the 23-year-old student, Bryan Richard Frost, was walking with two fellow students past a gated apartment complex at approximately 2:10 a.m. Police suspect Frost and his companions rattled the gate, which prompted the fight. Authorities do not believe the attack was gang related or that the attacker and Frost knew each other.

The assailant is still at large.
