The University of Houston announced it has ended its relationship with a private security company after a video surfaced of security guards attacking students as they rushed a football field after a win.
University President Renu Khator made the decision to cut ties with Contemporary Services Corporation immediately after the football game, according to abc13.com.
The video, included above, shows multiple guards tackling and hitting fans as they run onto the field after a win against Temple on Dec. 5.
One guard who chose to remain anonymous said his coworkers were doing their best to keep people off the field, something they were instructed to do.
But President Khator criticized the guards’ tactics, saying “nobody has the right to treat our students in this manner.”
