UMass Installs Campus-Wide Fire Sprinklers

AMHERST, Mass. — The University of Massachusetts has completed a $27.2 million campus-wide fire safety program.

As part of the multifaceted fire safety project, fire sprinklers were installed in every room and every dormitory at the college, MassLive.com reports. Additionally, the smoke detector system received an upgrade.

UMass obtained $4.8 million from the state and financed the rest of the project through the UMass Building Authority.
