UCSB Police Captain Graduates From FBI Academy, Appointed Assistant Chief

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — UC Santa Barbara Police Captain Cathy Farley graduated from the FBI National Academy in June.

The program includes 10 weeks of rigorous physical and academic training the Daily Sound reports. Only 1% of law enforcement officers have the opportunity to participate in the academy, according to Farley. On average, participants have 19 years of law enforcement experience.

Farley was also recently appointed assistant chief of the UCSB Police Department, the first person in the history of the department to hold that position.
