MISSION BAY, Calif. — On Nov. 14, University of California regents cancelled a meeting scheduled for this week due to threats from “rogue elements intent on violence and confrontation with UC public safety officers” that were planning to join the peaceful protestors at the meeting.
The regular bi-monthly meeting was to take place Wednesday and Thursday at UC San Francisco’s Mission Bay campus, the Los Angeles Times reports. Student leaders said the postponement will prevent them from voicing their discontent with state budget cuts that have resulted in rising UC and Cal State tuition costs.
A new date and location for the meeting have not yet been set.
