DAVIS, Calif.—Two University of California, Davis police officers are being investigated after using pepper spray on Occupy Wall Street protesters who were sitting down with their arms linked. The officers have been put on paid administrative leave.
Video shows officers in riot gear spraying protesters at close range, according to CNN. Individuals in the crowd yelled “shame on you” at the police officers.
Ten individuals were arrested during the protest on Friday after they refused to remove their encampment, reports ABC News 10.
As a result of the incident, UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi said she would be forming a task force. A critic has called for her resignation reports MSNBC.
