The University of Missouri System is paying nearly $500,000 to a consulting firm that will help the system create Title IX policies and training.
The contract is with National Higher Education Risk Management and is for one year, reports the Columbia Daily Tribune. It went into effect in July, with $150,000 covering consulting services for the system’s task force.
Additionally, $345,000 will cover training for investigators and campus security authorities, as well as other system-wide educational efforts. The total flat fee is $495,000.
Institutions of higher education around the nation are re-examining how they handle claims of sexual misconduct under Title IX and the Clery Act. More than 70 U.S. colleges and universities are being investigated by the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights.
