U.S. Dept. of Ed to Fine Yale $165,000 for 12-year-old Violations

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—The U.S. Department of Education has sent a letter to Yale informing the university that it could be fined $165,000 for violating the Clery Act.

The letter claims Yale didn’t report four “forcible sex offenses in its campus crime statistics” in 2001 and 2002, reports the New Haven Register. The school has requested the U.S. Department of Education lower the penalty.
