The University of Vermont (UVM) has settled a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the widow of a man killed after participating in a university drug study that allegedly caused him to fall asleep at the wheel of his car.
The lawsuit claims the university research team was negligent in allowing the participant to drive home after taking a dose, according to the Associated Press. The accident also killed two other men when the vehicle hit an oncoming car.
