U. of Saskatchewan Officer Knifed on Campus

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan, Canada – Two men slashed a female University of Saskatchewan security officer with a knife Oct. 10.

Police are investigating the incident, which they say occurred around 2 a.m. on Wednesday as the officer was patrolling near the tennis courts and education building. The officer sustained knife cuts to both of her arms after she approached the suspects because they appeared suspicious.

After the attack, the victim was taken to the hospital. She is now recovering at home.

In response to the incident, students and staff were alerted, although a police representative said he believed the attack was an isolated event.
