ORONO, Maine — The Sigma Nu fraternity received a five-year suspension from the University of Maine on Wednesday after repeatedly violating the student conduct code.
On March 18, the frat allowed underage drinking to take place, the Bangor Daily News reports. Two females, ages 17 and 18, were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center for treatment for severe intoxication. They were not students at the university.
The chapter has one week to appeal the university’s decision.
