U. of Kentucky to Spend $5M to Ramp Up Security

LEXINGTON, Ky. — In response to recent muggings and other crimes on campus, the University of Kentucky (UK) plans to spend $5 million to enhance security.

As part of the security upgrades, UK will install security cameras throughout the campus to help law enforcement monitor the university, as well as deter crime. Additionally, university officials encouraged all students to get their student IDs updated by Sept. 6.

The university expects the changes to be completed within the next nine months.
