U. of Arizona Student Sentenced for Killing Roommate

TUCSON, ARIZ.

Galareka Harrison, who was convicted of fatally stabbing her University of Arizona roommate, was sentenced to life in prison without the option of parole. Harrison was convicted of first-degree murder on Sept. 19 by a Pima County, Ariz., jury after killing her roommate in their dorm room last year.

Harrison was also sentenced an additional five years for forgery and identity theft. She will serve the sentences concurrently.

The victim’s parents sued the university for failing to separate the two women after the victim filed complaints against Harrison.
