NEW ORLEANS — Tulane University hopes to open its proposed on-campus stadium for the 2014 football season, but has been unable to plan for the parking needed to accommodate attendees.
Fewer than 1,800 parking spaces are likely to be available on the Tulane campus, The Times-Picayune reports. If 30,000 people attend a game, 70% are likely to use private cars, meaning that 8,000 parking spaces would be needed.
Officials said they could shuttle attendees from distant lots, but because they have not yet located those lots, many people are dissatisfied with the plan.
