Meth on Campus Leads to Teacher, Principal Suspension

DANVILLE, W. Va. — The Boone County Career and Technical Center, a high school, was closed on July 27 after traces of methamphetamine were discovered in the building. A teacher was also arrested.

Principal Keith Phipps and teacher Jack Turley are accused of manufacturing and purchasing materials used to make the drug, Reuters reports. Both have been suspended from their positions.

The traces found at the school were the result of the methamphetamine being smoked on the campus, according to Jeff Huffman, assistant superintendent of Boone County, West Virginia, schools.
