Toronto Officer Apologizes for Telling Women Not to Dress ‘Like Sluts’

TORONTO—A Toronto police officer issued a written apology for telling a group of students and staff at a campus safety informational session that women can avoid being sexually assaulted by not dressing “like sluts.”

The officer made the remarks while speaking at Osgoode Hall Law School. The school’s assistant dean said that kind of remark makes it difficult for sexual assault victims to trust officers, reports the Winnipeg Free Press.
