Threats Posted On MySpace May Lead to Student's Expulsion

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Police are investigating as a possible hate crime the threatening and anti-Semitic comments made by a middle school student against a classmate that were posted on MySpace.com, a social networking Web site.

According to the Associated Press, the boy’s message allegedly encouraged readers to shoot a female student “over a 1,000 times.”

The student may be expelled from TeWinkle Middle School as a result of the graphic threats. Twenty of his classmates who visited his site were suspended in mid-February, although because the site’s content can be changed at any time, it is unclear what exactly they saw.
