The man who stabbed 14 people in a Texas college building in April 2013 was sentenced to 48 years in prison Dec. 3.
Dylan Quick plead guilty to attempted capital murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to click2houston.com.
Quick had recently earned his degree from Lone Star College in Cy-Fair when he entered the school’s Health Science Center and went on a stabbing spree. The former student stabbed 14 people, mostly in their shoulder and head areas, before a student tackled him to the ground and held him until police arrived.
After the investigation police revealed that Quick had admitted to thinking of killing people with a blade since elementary school and fantasized about acting out scenes in the movie “Silence of the Lambs.” Quick’s lawyers argued in court that he was mentally ill.

Quick had earned his associate’s degree from Lone Star and was planning on transferring to the University of Houston when the attack occurred.
In 2011, Quick was reported missing for three days and had reportedly told his mother he was planning on committing suicide.
